Simply lower the rack, back the truck into the water and winch the boat up.

Once the boat is winched up the rack hydraulically lifts and the tailgate is able to close allowing a trailer to be pulled.
Lift boats from 10ft to 18ft and up to 2500LBS
The winch bar is adjustable to allow boats front 10ft to 18ft (assuming you stay under max height) and can lift up to 2500lbs.
